Meet Dr. Barrion
Dr. Amy L. Barrion is an exceptionally skilled and board certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and laser refractive surgeon. She has performed over 14,000 laser vision correction procedures since 2004, and has been performing ICL procedures since 2010. The limitations and loss of vision of one of her close family members fueled her passion and compassion for the preservation and improvement of sight for over 20 years.
Originally from Buffalo, New York, she graduated with honors from Syracuse University with a Bachelors in Nutritional Science and from the State University of New York College of Medicine at Syracuse with her Doctorate of Medicine. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD and Ophthalmology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego.
A 25-year Navy Veteran, she served in numerous leadership roles to include, Chief of the Medical Staff, Ophthalmology Department Chair and Head of Refractive surgery. As an accomplished refractive surgeon for over 18 years, she has performed over 15,000 procedures on our nations war fighters to include PRK, LASIK, SMILE, ICL cataract and refractive lens exchange.
She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmologist and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Outside her practice her humanitarian spirit has led her to multiple surgical outreach missions to Central America.
