Controlling the environment for safer and more accurate surgical results

Our operating rooms are environmentally-controlled to optimize performance

Our operating rooms are environmentally-controlled to optimize performance

Our laser eye surgery operating rooms are designed to safely optimize patient visual outcomes based on controlling room temperature, humidity, air flow, and filtration. We also employ uninterrupted power supplies to support continuous laser operation in the unlikely event of a power disruption.

Our sterile technique practices are designed to prevent surgical and healthcare-related infection

Our sterile technique practices are designed to prevent surgical and healthcare-related infection

In order to protect against the risk of surgical and healthcare-associated infection (including from COVID-19), we implement a formal sterile technique that’s designed to prevent contamination and maintain sterility at crucial points in the surgical process, including preparing a sterile field for each surgery patient. The surgical team also practices hand antisepsis before donning surgical masks and gloves.

Our femtosecond and excimer lasers are carefully calibrated and maintained

Our femtosecond and excimer lasers are carefully calibrated and maintained

Getting a great visual outcome depends on the operational precision of the laser that reshapes your cornea. Lasers that are not properly calibrated or maintained can compromise patient safety and produce suboptimal results. That’s why all of our excimer and femtosecond lasers are strictly maintained by their respective manufacturers under formal service agreements, and why Dr. Hyver himself reviews and approves the laser calibration results on every surgery day.

Our surgical team is highly-trained and certified

Our surgical team is highly-trained and certified

In addition to controlling the operating room environment and ensuring the lasers are properly calibrated and maintained, we also give special attention to training the surgical team, which is responsible for setting up the surgical field for each patient, supporting the patient prior to, during and following treatment, and assisting Dr. Hyver in performing LASIK, SMILE and PRK surgery. And our surgical technicians are certified by Alcon to operate the EX500 excimer laser platform.
